EDITORIAL

The FRSA Meeting is a unique traditional biannual meeting organised by the France Reunion Cardiology Group and the South African Society for Cardiovascular Intervention (SASCI) and the Society of Cardio Thoracic Surgeons of South Africa (SCTSSA). This unique collaboration has been highly successful over the last 10 years.

The 2011 Meeting in Cape Town will be jointly sponsored by the University of Cape Town and Mayo Clinic (Rochester USA).

In keeping with the tradition of a multi-disciplinary approach, this 3-day meeting will bring together interventional cardiologists (coronary and vascular) with cardiac rhythm cardiology specialists, cardiac surgeons, vascular surgeons, radiologists, nurses and technicians from South Africa, France and Europe.

Sessions will deal with :

Clinical cardiology

Percutaneous and surgical intervention for coronary artery disease

Percutaneous and surgical intervention for valvular heart disease

Cardiovascular imaging and diagnostic tools

Pharmacological management for interventional cardiology

Interventions for cardiac failure and cardiac support

Peripheral vascular disease intervention

The program format includes :

Didactic lectures

Symposia sponsored by medical industry

Controversies and debates on hot topics

Procedural tips and tricks

Complications

Poster presentation

The 2011 Meeting has already attracted and secured a large regular faculty of world experts from France, Europe, USA, South Africa and elsewhere. Once again this should provide unique opportunities for French and South African practitioners to share their approaches in the fields of cardiology and cardiac surgery.

Le 6ème France - Réunion & South Africa Meeting of Cardio Vascular Disease se tiendra à Cape Town - Afrique du Sud, du 27 au 30 novembre 2011.

Le FRSA Meeting est un meeting bi-annuel, unique, organisé par le groupe de cardiologie France-Réunion, la South African Society for Cardiovascular Intervention (SASCI) et le Society of Cardio Thoracic Surgeons of South Africa (SCTSSA). Cette collaboration unique a été particulièrement fructueuse durant ces 10 dernières années.

Le 6ème FRSA Meeting of Cardio Vascular Disease sera supporté par l'Université de Cape Town (RSA) et la Mayo Clinic (Rochester, USA).

Selon sa tradition multi disciplinaire, ce meeting de 3 jours réunira les cardiologues interventionnels, les rythmologues et stimulistes, les chirurgiens cardiaques, les chirurgiens vasculaires, les radiologues interventionnels, les infirmiers(ères) et les techniciens de France, d'Afrique du Sud et d'Europe.

Les sessions se répartiront entre :

- Cardiologie clinique

- Interventions per-cutanées et chirurgicales dans la maladie coronaire

- Interventions per-cutanées et chirurgicales dans les cardiopathies valvulaires

- Imagerie cardio vasculaire et outils diagnostics
